Tension prevailed at Namchi in Sikkim on the second day bandh called by the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF). Stones were reportedly hurled at a house of a BJP leader there along with the party office of the SDF & a school there. The SDF alleged that the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) was behind this. A rally of the Joint Action Committee was also attacked at Malli.
The 48-hr strike called by the SDF, that started yesterday, is in protest to the “foreigner tag” issue.
