Batting first, Bangladesh were all out for 228 and set a target of 229 runs for India in 50 overs.

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat in the second match of the Champions Trophy 2025 against India in the Dubai International stadium.

Bangladesh were 35 for 5 at one stage, but Towhid Hridoy (100) and Jaker Ali (68) played a remarkable 154-run partnership stand for the next wicket to bail the side out of trouble. Harshit Rana picked up three wickets, while Axar Patel claimed two.

On the other hand, Mohammed Shami broke multiple bowling records during the first half of the game. Shami, who returned figures of 5 for 53 in 10 overs, scripted history by becoming the fastest bowler in the world to claim 200 ODI wickets, in terms of balls bowled. Shami became the joint second-fastest in the world, and also the fastest Indian bowler to claim 200 ODI wickets. He achieved the feat in his 104th ODI match. Shami also became the first-ever Indian bowler with a total of 60 wickets in ICC ODI tournaments, surpassing Zaheer Khan (59 scalps).
