Union home minister Amit Shah will attend the raising day ceremony of Sashastra Seema Bal ( SSB) at its Siliguri frontier headquarters at Ranidanga on December 20.
SSB sources said, the para- military force guarding the peaceful Indo-Nepal and Indo- Bhutan borders is preparing in full swing to celebrate the raising day.
The SSB formerly known as Special Service Bureau was raised on March 15 1963 after the 1962 Indo-China war. Its raising day was changed to December 20 by an act of parliament in 2007.
Though no details were available about the union home minister's visit at Ranidanga on the outskirts of SilIguri, it is expected that he would mainly address the issues related with the Indo-Bhutan and Indo-Nepal borders and some age old demands of ethnic people in North Bengal during his visit.
