The wait is finally over! Jaar, inspired by Indra Bahadur Rai’s iconic Nepali story, is hitting theatres on May 9, 2025 (Baisakh 26). Directed by Phurba Tshering Lama, the film features power-packed performances by Saugat Malla, Anoop Bikram Shahi, and Geetanjali Thapa.
Produced by Ferry Tale Pictures in association with Hope Reels, LA-7 Shorts, Baral Studio, and Kiwa Production, ‘Jaar’ is set to deliver an extraordinary cinematic experience.
For its release in Nepal, Apple Entertainment, FD Company, and Rich Entertainment have joined hands to ensure it reaches audiences nationwide. On the global stage, Seven Seas Cinema will helm the international distribution, bringing the magic of ‘Jaar’ to audiences worldwide.
Set against the backdrop of 19th-century Nepal, Jaar tells the poignant story of Thuli (Geetanjali Thapa), a woman torn between societal shame and the courage to protect what she holds most dear. Her choice could either break her world apart or change it forever.
The film is supported by the IPR Department, Government of Sikkim, under the Chief Minister's initiative to uplift regional cinema.
